Choral Mass

Event Description:

Experience Palestrina’s sublime a cappella choral masterpiece, “Missa Papae Marcelli” in the context of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Also includes the premier of two new compositions in the style of Palestrina- a setting of Psalm 23 and Salvator Mundi– by Wm. Glenn Osborne who will serve as organist for the celebration. Bishop John Noonan will preside.
The Basilica Choir under the direction of William Picher.
All are welcome, no tickets required.

The British Way!

Event Description:

Join us as the Festival Singers of Florida, conducted by Dr. Kevin Fenton, celebrates British Choral music, including Vaughan Williams, Taverner, and the newly composed Missa Brevis by Jonathan Dove. The “crowning moment” will surely be the Rutter Gloria, including full brass and organ.

Also included will be “Let the People Praise Thee, O God” by William Mathias. While preparing the piece, I discovered this recording done by fellow Westminster Choir College alum Mark Husey at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Columbia, South Carolina. Enjoy!

Basilica Christmas Concert

The Basilica’s annual celebration of Advent and Christmas music featuring favorites for choir and orchestra. And don’t forget the sing-along! This is the most popular Basilica concert, so come early for the best seats. Preceeding the concert at 5:30 p.m. will be an open house at the Basilica Gift Shop and Museum, with complimentary refreshments.

A Veteran’s Day Salute

Event Description:

Originally called Armistice Day, which marked the end of hostilities during World War I, this day has been known as Veterans Day since 1954. Come honor our Armed Services Veterans and those who are currently serving with inspiring music by the Basilica Choir and Brass Ensemble directed by William Picher.

Rutter Gloria

Event Description:

Members of Central Florida Community Choir are proud to present A Night of John Rutter as the second installment of their annual Summer Classical Series. Pieces such as Gloria, A Gaelic Blessing and The Lord Bless You And Keep You will be just some of the works showcased during this concert.The concert will be free, with donations to CFCA, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, gratefully accepted.

Faure Requiem at Holy Redeemer
