Local university faculty and friends present World Premieres and other new music composed for a variety of sacred faith traditions. Featuring the Cathedral Choir and Orlando Deanery Boychoir and Girls Choir.
This concert will include the premier of the SSA version of God, Your Golden Doorway Beckons.
The first performance of my composition Watch! Take Care! Your Hearts Prepare! will take place during Mass on the Fourth Sunday of Advent at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe. The Basilica Choir under the direction of William Picher will sing the piece at both the 9:30 and 11:30am Masses. The piece is a setting of a text by John Dalles for unaccompanied SATB choir.
For the wedding of my brother-in-law (my wife’s brother), I will be composing the entrance and exit music for organ and brass quintet. I also will be writing a new setting of Psalm 145 for the celebration. Links to pages about the individual pieces will be provided once the compositions are complete.

Forty days after Easter, St. Richard’s Episcopal Church celebrates the Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ with a festival choral Eucharist. Under the leadership of Director of Music/Organist, Dr. Carl MaultsBy, the St. Richard’s Schola will sing the world premiere of composer Wm. Glenn Osborne’s Ascension day anthem for choir and organ “God Is Gone Up.” The occasion marks the second collaboration between Osborne and the Schola. Last fall at the Rollins College Canterbury Club Evensong, the Schola premiered his “To Love Is to Be Breakable.” In 2006, Osborne was commissioned by the Festival Celebration Choir in Albany, NY to compose a piece, “Festival Te Deum,” which premiered in honor of that choir’s 20th anniversary. In 2008, Mr. Osborne arranged pieces for papal liturgies during the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to New York City. The Basilica Choir of the National Shrine, Mary, Queen of the Universe (Orlando) has recorded two of his compositions “Salve Regina” and “God We Would Hear the Angels Sing.”
The mass setting for the Eucharist is by William Mathias.
A new composition by Wm. Glenn Osborne with lyrics by John Dalles will be premiered during the baccalaureate service of Gateway High School by the Bel Canto Choir under the direction of Chris Barletta. Faith Is Like a Mystic Spirit is for SSA choir with piano accompaniment. The lyrics are published in the collection of hymn texts We Turn to God published by Wayne Leupold Editions, Inc.
